I can't help be amused when AFP applies the adjective 'tolerance' to Arab-Jewish relations in Morocco, where the Jewish population is down to 1 percent of what it used to be. Nevertheless one can see why royal adviser Andre Azoulay -'spiritually Jewish', but 'a Berber' (having in the past described himself as an Arab) - strains to put a positive spin on the Muslim-Jewish music festival in his hometown of Essaouira. But let's give the Moroccans credit where it's due, such an event could hardly take place, say, in Egypt today. (With thanks: bh)
