The Muslims are wasting the Land so why not give that land to the Jews to make effective use off as a second homeland.

Why not just teach the Muslims how to reclaim it? Besides, Bosnia is not Muslim by and large.

But "Albania" is still viable, no-one can call that disgrace a nation, it is the backwash of Europe.
If all else fails we can always invade and destroy Saudi Arabia and give that to Israel.

i was looking at a map of israel & the mediterranean just yesterday when i glanced up to europe & said the exact same rhing as a joke at first but...! :)

from all that i know of albania/-ians, there has never historically been any animosity towards jews. (if i am wrong, please correct me)
in fact, they accepted jews who were fleeing overrun states in ww2, & even though they themselves were under an occupying facism, first with the italians then germans.
to this day, they are tolerant of gypsies, also. and gypsies of differing religious persuasions, also.
they may be the only state in europe, & a minority in the world, in which the ethnic people do not hold much stock in religion.
notwithstanding the minority of religious fanatics, most albanians have been historically indifferent to religion & have adapted quite easily to occupiers' conversions of them. notably, the romans, the christians, then the muslims.
the ottoman turks had a spectacularly easy go of it by just levvying taxes on the men over a few years until gradually they converted to 80% muslim. no violence &* no attmpt at even converting the women.,,
i think israel should colonize albania--a friendly colonization, working hand in hand w/ the people.
it would give israel room to grow; give them a foothold in europe; give them say in european policy making; give them friendly status with non-jews & specifically, muslims;etc...
it would be an easier task to bring success to a poor but potentially enriching environment, unklike the swamps/deserts of the ME.
if they brought prosperity to the nation of albania, & taking into account their irreligious background, i would also bet you anything that you would have a wholly voluntary mass conversions to judaism within 50 years time. :D
I don't think colonization is really the answer. I think Albanians would benefit greatly from cooperation with Israel, where Israel could teach them how to make their lives better. AFAIK, Albania was indeed a haven for the Jews, and has very limited antisemitism, if any.

I chose to invade southern USA. all those dumb backwit rednecks don't deserve all the space they are wasting. the yankees will probably thank us if we throw all the rednecks to the sea and replace them.

would the majority of jews who made israel have done so if america had absorbed them all after ww2, like it should have?
the american west & northwest was (still is) able to handle them & their progeny quite easily. no need to displace anyone.
no need to displace anyone in albania, either. i thinkmany of the natives have left the country like rats from a sinking ship.
i was being fanciful with my talk of colonization. i think everyone can rightly see what a mess it brings back upon you.
move in, strike a deal, work as equals with the natives, no 2nd class treatment, etc... it could work for either the jews or the palestinians, really.
i can see either the jews would influence the albanians for the better, or the albanians would influence the palestinians for the better (make them less fervently religious, at the least; after communism fell, the egyptian jihad went there to kindle radicalism & died a slow & embarassing death, i hear).

My only question is, why are we even talking about this anyway? If Jews should live anywhere it should be present day Israel, and the lands of ancient Israel which are claimed by non other than the Arabs.

Mr. Pumps, when Israel was given to the Jews, it was a wasteland------good for nothing. When part of the Sinai, in 1981 went back to Egypt, it turned from a place of beauty into to a place of filth. The so-called Palestinians live and act by stealth, even Jordan won't take them, and they are from Jordan. To winge and moan that their homeland has been taken away, and their power to govern--well, since when did they govern? The British did it for them. However, I just want to clarify that you meant a second homeland with Israel, not giving up Israel. It is true that the Israeli's cna turn anything into a place of beauty.

Israel is also quite capable of turning a place of beauty into a wasteland, as can be seen in the Kishon stream in the Haifa area.
The stream was used as training area for navy divers. It was also used as waste disposal for Haifa's industrial zone. It was discovered that the divers suffered cancer because of diving in the polluted waters.
Israelis, I am sad to say, are capable of doing beautiful things and destroying them as well....

Yes I understand that heavy metal pollutants are an increasingly alarming problem in areas where for example batteries are manufactured.

Arab coutries "function productively" (whatever that means).
I was in Sinai in Sukot 1998 and enjoyed the place very much.
No complaints except for the border crossing hich took 6 hours.
I have to say about "making the desert bloom" myth: this was a romantic view typical of the 50s and 60s. It's long since debunked. It is now common estimation among historians that drying the swamp of the Hoola valey was an ecological mistake that made the land useless in agricultural terms.

Why should the Jews be "given" a substitute? Albania has never historically shown animosity towards the Jews? Are you crazy? Albania is a catholic and orthodox country. Need one say more? Why not give the Jews Madagascar, like the Nazi's mulled over. If Albania tolerates gypsies, well, they are catholic. So, dear Ruby, Israel should bend over backwards to gain a friendly status in Europe and with non-Jews. If Israeli's and non-Jews have bad blood between them, I ask, what else is new, and, the way others think of the Jews (negatively), I also ask what else is new. Israel can't win for trying. Will both Israel and the Palestinians be able to come to terms with the high population density - mid-term and long-term?
I am thinking not only about the limited water reserves, but also of air pollution, lack of forests, urbanization etc.
Are there any reliable studies on the issue?

productive meaning self-sufficient. Turning useless ground into fertile fields. Maybe the Sinai has been cleaned up, but the bloom, especially in the north, is no myth, I am Israeli, not just a visitor.

I hope this thread does not express the feelings of all Israelis. Albania is an old country dating all the way back to the ancient Illyrians; we have a lot of history and a lot of culture to be proud of. Our nation protected the Jews during WW2, you can read the book by Robert Kaplan (an author of Jewish nationality), The Ghosts of Balkan. The actual president of Albania has Jewish great parents, Alfred Moisiu; his last name means "Moses". I was really saddened by some comments made here about my country. You guys are really quick at judging any sniff of anti-Semitism, but when it comes to bash other countries it's quite alright.

It was a joke, and a stupid one at that. Jews have a homeland and a country--the Land of Israel and the country of Israel. The implications in the intial post here is just nothing short of being dumb.

So my suggestion for you is to reconsider everything bad you said about Albanians...and the most muslims live in Kosova, actual Albania has more christians then muslims...By the way the people that saved the Jews from Hitler were Albanian Bektashi Muslim, other muslim, and catholic! ;) Comparing Albanian muslims and Bosnian or Arab Muslims is like comparing two different economical systems, capitalism and communism! ;)
