Recruiting suicide bombers

I intended this post to be about methods how terror groups recruit their idiots.

I've heard one pretty efficient way.

For example the other day when Israel bombed the building with Shehada, you could see people raising babies/children high into the air so everybody could see it.
This is one way. After Israeli inflicted casualties there are terror group members asking angered people: "Do you want revenge on Israel for what they did?"
This is a very easy tool to recruit these bombers: anger.

Imagine now, because of the strike on Gaza, how many angered people there are willing to go kill themselves with the education they've been sticked into their head with!

See, when there are no terror groups, there aren't any recruiters and when the main dudes are killed, the brains and the weapon making will be ceased.

What other methods do you know?

It doesn't really matter how they recruit suicide bobmbers, what matters is how to stop the recruitment. And there is only one way to do it.

I'm a Jew living in Canada, so i have absolutely no power whatsoever to go to the middle-east and talk possible suicide bobmber recuits out of carrying terrorism acts. I have no power to go argue with them how pointless, idiotic to thier cause (and of course criminal, heartless act of killing innocents too) doing so is.

So think about it for a minute, if you were a young kind about to be corrupted to become a suicide bomber, what's the one thing that might change your mind? Bush? Sharon? American media? none of that... The ONLY thing i can thing of would be a fellow palestianian, a friend, neighbour brother whatever. The Palestinian people who oppose suicide bombings, and recognize them for what they are, horrible criminal acts against innocents which furthermore does the exact opposite than advancing thier cause, need to SPREAD THE WORD!!! I know it sounds stupid, but really it's the only way.

Hopefully, if Arafat doesn't get re-elected, a new leader will view it this way too. One can only hope.

True to some extent. It depends on who is doing the recruiting. Hamas actively recruits young men from large families who are not the sole source of income to their families. They specifically go after people who are motivated eg. not some pathological simpleton too distraught to go on with another day. Then they paint it as their religious duty.

Other groups I think are less picky. al-Aqsa certainly as a 'secular' organization working hand in glove with the PA cherry picks the weakest most vulnerable most unbalanced people it can find. Hezbollah, is more like a twisted professional army. So I think the motives change as do the tactics. I'm not sure outreach and toughlove strategies would work across the board. (I mean, what would Tim McVeigh do?)

The participants in this forum are individuals with individual opinions. Instead of putting words in other people's mouths, try to engage in civil discussion.

To me, all Arabs are definitely not the same. There are many prominent Arab Americans. There are Arabs who support terrorism and Arabs who support Israel. There are Arabs who just want to live their lives in peace, and others who want to see the whole world go up in flames.

I draw a distinction between the majority of Muslims, who are decent people, and the followers of militant Islam (such as Osama bin Laden) who are profoundly evil.

As far as land "taken away" from Palestinians, I think that if you spend more time studying history (I mean 1850 - 2002, not ancient history) you will find it is not so simple. There were very few Arabs living in what is now Israel in 1890, for example.

To make a long story short, 600,000 Jews found their way to Palestine by 1947. They asked for a very tiny strip of land for their own state. 70% of this land was owned by the state, not individuals. The Arab response was that Arabs should get all of the land for their state, and Jews should get none. Putting aside the propaganda that your media, schools, and mosques like to promote, why couldn't the Arabs let the Jews have a tiny strip of land? Are you so greedy?

My Palestinian friend Raed is one of my best friends, we were roommates in college, and we have shared food and conversation with each other's family, and still share great times together when I visit him or vice versa.
