i want to let people know what Americans REALLY think-this comes from hours and hours of discussions.

A few brilliant ideas have been brought up and hopefully will come to law:

1.all mideast and european persons that have came to usa since 1985 shall be background checked--if they have any strange past they are DEPORTED.
2.ALL usa borders are closed to non us citizens.any one from or with ties to the mideast(iran,iraq,syria,etc....)-CANNOT enter.
3.think about this--the terrorists (sept.11)-were free to go in and out of usa.--THEY EVEN LIVED HERE!!!!
they were the same person as "that nice arab guy" that lives down the hall fronm you!!!this is what real americans feel.

I agree with you that many Americans would like to see tighter controls at our nation's borders, and a closer watch over potential terrorists.

I'm not sure that it's only a matter of people from the middle east, though.

many technical people [doctors, scientists] signed agreements
in their home countries to return to their native lands AFTER they finished school in the US

we all know why they stuck around [to cash in] but they must be pressured to live up to their original agreements with
their home countries, to return and set up shop there. These
countries paid for their education in many cases, why should they re-neg.

law enforcement IS targeting .. there's no point in trying
to reform this or be polite about it.

people that 'look american' ought to pass right thru the airport
without hassle. There's no logic to delaying a flight for 3 hours
while they ask 60 year old grandmothers to sniff their bags.

and if that angry looking guy wearing a turbin, and having a
fuse extending from his sneakers gets pissed off and wants to
sue police ... f*** him slow and show him the door.

The job of the federal govt is to protect our borders, it's in the
constitution, so what do they do instead?

inspect our tuna fish every day ..
issue citations to smokey back yard barbeques ..
set up the CDC to .. .. .. what do they do again? .. issue statements like "there is no danger near mail processing equipment"

The next oppressive regime that should be ousted from their
hideaways is the congress of the United States !!

of course, this is only my opinion ..
