Does this move provide proof that the US is pro-Israel? I always feel that on some issues it is and on other issue it isn't. I see that this claim is thrown around alot by muslims. It is a grievance that they have. I feel that the more important issue is to get the peace talks moving again.

Yes, the U.S. is in general pro-Israel, and rightfully so.
Speaking of the UN veto, here's news from today, showing a typical anti-Israel bias if the UN:
From Jpost:
"Palestinian supporters today asked for an emergency General Assembly session on the nearly 15-month-old conflict with Israel.
The request by Egypt on behalf of Arab nations and South Africa which heads the Non-Aligned Movement of mainly developing countries came four days after the United States vetoed a Palestinian-backed resolution in the Security Council.
It is most unfortunate that the General Assembly will be used as a platform by the Palestinian leadership to avoid fighting the terror groups in the Palestinian Authority controlled territories, as is demanded of them by almost the entire international community," said Ariel Milo, spokesman for Israel's UN Mission.
US Ambassador John Negroponte said he had cast a veto because the resolution was aimed at isolating Israel politically and made no mention of recent suicide bombings and attacks against Israel or the terrorist organizations responsible, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad. "
