Unbelievable. She's gone senile. She's giving American support to the a government that is all but fully controlled by a known terrorist organization.
On the flight from Israel, Rice told reporters her message would be one of U.S. support for Lebanese democracy and that they would discuss how the United States can support the institutions of a free Lebanon.
Hezbollah, which is both a militia and a political party, gained veto power over the Beirut government in a compromise brokered last month. The deal ended 18 months of political paralysis, and followed bloody street clashes.
The U.S. would have preferred that Hezbollah not gain greater power, but has called the deal a necessary step for stability.
The breakthrough deal, reached with the help of Arab mediators, allowed Lebanon's parliament to elect a new president. Suleiman's election brought palpable relief to Lebanese who feared their country was in danger of another civil war. It also ushered in a shift in the balance of power in favor of Iranian-backed Hezbollah.

I call her the clueless genius. Her and Bush just do not have what it takes to admit what a huge failure democracy in the Middle East is.

As far as I'm concerned, she is an enemy of Israel, like Jimmy Carter (yemach shemo). She told Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora that it was time to resolve the Mount Dove (Shaba Farms) issue [in other words pressure Israel to give up part of the Golan Heights].

She is worse than Jimmy Carter, b/c unfortunately she still has a future in politics. I hope McCain does not include her in his cabinet in any way, shape, or form.

Dayag and Yala,
Nice to see, we are all on the same page here. She is no friend of Israel. She is actually against the Pentagon taking out the Iranian nuclear sites. Because it reflects on her. In other words her diplomacy did not work. I hope she gets fired when Bush steps down.

I only read the first few paragraphs and got aggravated. She needs to mind her business and stop being an Islamic kisser. Everyone wants Israel to give and give. What happens when there is nothing left to give?

"Everyone wants Israel to give and give."
Israel has the option to become very hostile to the idea of "giving" any thing.
Israelis have the option not to tolerate anyone internally that is not a hard-core Zionist ultra-nationalist. Anyone not that isn't worthy of respect, just as any American not a hard-core ultra-nationalist is unworthy of protection. We are in a cultural war. Cultures that are not willing to fight to survive don't deserve to exist, because pitiless competition is the way of nature and man (not to mention successful religions :D ).
Political enemies are to be fought. Cultural enemies are to be fought. Their enemy status negates any moral obligation to them as human beings. Once the nonsense of nurturing and grovelling before people that should be smashed is removed from our thought process, we are free to act for our side.
If you want change, advocate it to people and relentlessly force them to face as much reality as you can. Do what effective agitators do, because if you believe in your cause it is your, personal duty to fight for it.

Ahh but you are forgetting the revolving door. The US State Department has been for the last 50 years, a job interview for ex diplomats to work for Arab states once they leave the foreign service. The list of former ambassadors who become consultants to Arab states, is stupid long. The State Department has, as a matter of policy always held Israel at arms's length. That IS her job title, isn't it?

The Arabs know exactly who to key in on, to gain influence.

One thing that should be done is to militarize State and undermine its civilian influence. Appoint retired officers and get rid of the worthless civilians. The State Department should be an appendage of the Pentagon.
The only thing that matters is power and protecting the West. Gut State so it can never recover and restrict its scope to economic relations. Foreign policy should be dictated by military utility.
