Since there are those who don't quite understand the history of the land, therefore left in in the dark what the conflict is all about... I will start this thread in brief for I well know others will offer much more detailed explanations.
Many Jews were allowed to remain in Israel after the majority were forced out and the so-called "palestinians" were moved in from other countries by Rome. "palestine" was a name given to the people moved there by Rome to attempt to erase Israel off the map. "palestine" is said to be a Roman variation of philistine, who were sea peoples that invaded the territory thousands of years ago. Therefore they also are not indigenous to the land. Fact is "palestine" can never lay claim on any land in Israel.
As I said before I will be brief, there will be much I know that needs to be addressed but in time when there is response in this topic...

Great idea, Watcher.
Many people really don't understand the origin of the Arab/Israeli conflict.

many PA still hold land deeds ..
and the dream to return to their ancestors houses.
these deeds go back to 1917, 1930 etc
didn't the jews get their state via a hunger strike in 1947?
the UN voted unanimously to give them a state.
would the PA be willing to do a hunger strike in 2002 ?
they've tried everything else..

If the Philistines (or their descendants) are disbarred because they are immigrants to that part of the world, what about the Israelites? Didn't they arrivel in Caanan as invaders also?

Yes. But the ancient Canaanite civilization is long gone.

So the most recent invader in the area is trumps, and gets to pick the flag, the name etc?

The only invaders are when neighbors become hostile which proved to be disasterous for them resulting in great losses, example of a great loss is when Israel captured and annexed the entire Sinai peninsula which Israel returned since it is not part of the homeland whatsoever.

I take it you are referring to modern-day Israel?
The exact dates are certainly open to debate, but as I understand it the original Kingdom of Israel only lasted a few generations before splitting into the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah. These didn't last long as an independent forces either. I believe the Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Alexandrian Greeks and the Romans all overran that part of the near east and were either running the show on the spot or collecting the tribute from whichever local rulers they had installed.
Political entitites of any kind have a limited shelf-life. Rome did 400 years as top dog in Europe. I don't know of any other state that has lasted a comparable length of time without defeat or invasion.
