I found a site by Jews and Muslims who are "United to revert Israel into an Islamic State". What kind of Jews are these? I don't understand how someone can be ethnically one religion yet practice another.

The banner is
'Accepting the Messiah Jesus, without the Christian theology'
Maybe it's a kind of messianic religion that supplants Jesus with Mohammed. Got to say I don't really know.
Is 'Elohim' in Koran? What little I know of Aramaic I think some of their translations are dubious. For example I'm not sure their use of the "Mushlam" is correct. It could be Yerushalaim which would mean that a man of Jerusalem can be a teacher, not a muslim.
Certainly there is no existance of Islam in the Gospels - how could there be, the events are 700 years in the future and 400 years from when they were written down. Let alone in Torah which is older.

I don't know why people worry about those Kook Brigade websites. I once found one -- I'm looking for it because it's a real hoot and you'd love it -- where the leader of this sect claimed that Jesus was in Orion and would soon send space ships to pick them up. He actually had a loyal band of ragtag followers.
I think you could find followers for just about anything you could dream up. George Carlin said that there is a sect that believes that when you die your soul hangs around a diner in New Jersey.
"Do you want fries with that?"

Ayesha, to put your mind at rest: if someone believes that
he is an ethnical Jew, that is belongs to the "Jewish race", he is most certainly cukoo. Best thing to do is not to pay them any attention and hope they won't end in a lunatic assylum.

true, I did think it was a strange site.
Mediocrates: as far as I know Elohim isnt in the Qur'an, but I could be wrong. A lot of things on that site don't add up.
With regards to Islam in the Gospels, it is believed by Muslims that the Gospels/Torah/Psalms all came form the same God, all preaching the same call of worship to the same God. Therefore, elements of Islamic thought being in them is widely believed. That's why some people who are well versed in the 3 books someimes realise that some Qs that arise from reading one of the great books is answered after reading one/both of the others. In other words all 3 complement eachother. However, are fundamentally different in main principles/beliefs of each religion. I have heard somebody once say "Now I can understand my Bible! The Qur'an is going to help me be a good Christian" - strange? maybe

well, they pray like a muslim does, follow the koran but they are jewish by blood, they consider jewish as a race and not a religion,
so in effect they're muslim converts. i guess that's the same as the many jews i know who don't believe in any kind of God at all, but call themselves 'jews by birth' although u may be able to get away with saying u dont believe in God and calling yourself jewish. i just couldnt undersdtand the concept of being a part of 2 religions who may have conflicting fundamental principles/rituals

thats what i think it is, they are converts from biblical times,
yeah i live in a jewish neighboorhood and 90% of the kids i talk to call them selves jewish, but really dont care about israel, never go to the synagogue, and eat pork, go figure
IMO that's a problem. If they dont care about Israel then really they dont care for Jewish patriotism, heritage, culture etc. It's one thing not being religious, whatever it's your life. However, not feeling any kind of bond to your people/community will have dire effects on the next generation. What will become of Israel then, if young Jews don't want to identify
