Anti-Semitic British Peer Lord Ahmed jailed.

Lord Ahmed famously (except to the BBC) compared British Jews serving in the Israeli forces to British terrorist recruits going for training in camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

"Lord Nazir Ahmed, who has been jailed for 12 weeks for dangerous driving while texting on his mobile phone, became the UK's first Muslim life peer in 1998 and has been at the heart of debates concerning the Islamic community at home and abroad.

His outspoken views, and sometimes his actions, have courted controversy on a number of occasions.

Most recently, he spearheaded efforts to prevent far-right Dutch MP Geert Wilders from showing a controversial film about the Koran at the House of Lords.

The Pakistan-born Labour peer argued the film, which equated the Koran with extremism and terrorism, was offensive and would incite racial hatred in the UK."

Enjoy your cell not your cellphone Schmuk!

12 weeks for killing someone? Some Justice. I guess he won't have his "lord" title taken away either.

He is already radicalized Kenneth. He will no doubt come out after only serving a few days and complain that Muslims are being discriminated against in the clink.

I'm glad they had the courage to impose a custodial sentence. I was a little concerned that he'd get off with a fine.

I don't know all the ins and outs of this case but someone did die - although it's hard to tell if the death has been solely attributed to Ahmed. Apparently, the man who died had crashed into the central reservation of the motorway and was partly in the fast lane. Even though I've read a couple of articles, I can't quite figure out if Ahmed was jailed for hitting the car or texting....all they say is that there was no causal link between the texting and the accident. It seems a muddled account to me.

His QC said

"...Baker described how the defendant had come to Britain as a child speaking no English but had built up a successful business and political career before being made a life peer. His client provided an important function for the country both nationally and internationally, particularly in the field of inter-faith relations, he said."

Hmm....debatable:unsure:

He will only serve six weeks of the 12 week sentence, eat halal, most probably go into open prison conditions and be out on tag after 2 weeks of the six weeks.

The victim had already crashed but was alive. It was Ahmed's final hit that did him in.
