The British government has denied reports that a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the labelling of West Bank produce will lead to a boycott of Israeli goods.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) said on Friday that the roundtable meeting, which is hosted by the Cabinet Office, is only an industry consultation to look at the feasibility of giving the public more details on the origins of produce.

We should insist on that little yellow star.

How odd considering it is illegal to label the country of origin of a product within the EU. At least that was my understanding. This would be a very nasty move unless it aopplied to all sources worldwide. Even if it happened only the die-hard Jew-haters and the Muslims would notice so it would'nt really affect the market. I would hope that every Jew in the UK would try to buy products sourced in Israel and the West Bank.

Good one bararallu!

Of course the Chardonnay sipping luvvies who go to great lengths to see this boycott implemented won't be checking to closely into what useful technology Israel has supplied to them by way of computer components and medical hardware etc.. Heavens forbid that their lifestyles are actually affected beyond bath salts and tomato selection.

Reason no. 101 why the EU is in need of a pruning.
