The Lebanese have a clear choice in the upcoming elections. The March 14th coalition want stability, to rebuild the country after a long civil war, continue to make loads of money, not get involved with Iran's problems with Israel and certain other Arab and Western countries. In short, it does not want war with Israel or anyone else.

Unfortunatly under pressure from Hiz'bollah to support 'the resistance' some March 14th politicians have made strong statements on Israel in order to give them street cred but which they do not personally believe. Walid Jumblatt even went so far as to dismiss the Der Spiegel allegations against Hassan Nasrullah, much to the frustration of the rest of the coalition and many of his own followers.

March 14th wants it's army to be built by the US and other Western powers to defend itself against Syrian intervention and to lessen the power of the State within a State; Iran's Hiz'bollah.

In the event of a close vote and a government of national unity Lebanon may limp on until it falls apart

Hiz'bollah are offering the electorate the end of Western support with the Army built up by Iran. The want the focus not on regional peace but upon joining Iran, Syria and Hamas in Gaza in 'resistance' against Israel.

The election hinges upon General Aoun's Christian faction; do they want peace or do they want to kill Jews? If the answer is that they want to kill Jews then the incoming Hiz'bollah government is set to follow the path of Hamas in Gaza and drag Lebanon into a war with Israel which will leave more buildings standing on the Israeli side.

A win for Hassan Nasrullah is an open declaration of war between Israel and Lebanon. This time there are no doves in the cabinet in Jerusalem.

Walit Jumblatt is an outright, proud anti-Semite who has no allegiances and goes wherever the wind blows. He is already making overtures to Hezbollah.

The Christians just want to stay alive. It is good for them to be represented by both sides, this way they are not seen as pro or anti-Muslim/Sunni/Shia. The fact that they are divided means they have no political power, but insures their dwindling population won't be attacked.

The last 2 Israeli Wars were made by the Israeli left. I don't think this comment holds water.
