Does anyone think a parrallel can be drawn between the US and Israeli foriegn policy since 9/11? Both countries now in a war against "evil", "searching" for terrorists? How closely do you think the 9/11 attacks are related to the Arab-Israeli situation? I heard Osama Bin Laden say that the US will not be secure until there is peace for Palestinians (or something like that). Could any comparisons be made between the unilateral "defence" policies of Israel and the US?

Please do not assume that I support Hamas, or Al-Queda etc. etc. I just want to hear thoughts on the US, and a state that seems to be something of a son to it.

I think your imagination must be running wild if you heard bin Laden make a statement similar to the one you posted.

Israel hasn’t had a day of peace since the state was formed in 1948. Since then they have had to battle terrorism in various degrees.

Bin Laden was the mastermind behind 9/11 but I don’t think for one minute that he cares/cared one bit about the Palestinians.

Many countries in Europe are hotbeds for Islamic Fundamentalists that want nothing short of dominating the various countries they reside in. Bin Laden is a religious fanatic that wants/wanted to collapse the economy of the US thus lowering its standard of living to the point where it ceased to be a superpower.

Osama bin Laden on Israel/Palestine:

As for what is taking place in Palestine these days, I can only say we have no one but God to complain to.

What is taking place cannot be tolerated by any nation. I do not say from the nations of the human race, but from other creatures, from the animals. They would not tolerate what is taking place.

A confidant of mine told me that he saw a butcher slaughtering a camel in front of another camel.

The other camel got agitated while seeing the blood coming out of the other camel. Thus, it burst out with rage and bit the hand of the man and broke it.

How can the weak mothers in Palestine endure the killing of their children in front of their eyes by the unjust Jewish executioners with US support and with US aircraft and tanks?

The approach to foreign policy (i.e., unilateralism maintaining military superiority) recently outlined by the Bush Administration is essentially what Israel has been following in its area of the world since its inception, with only a few interludes.

I guess the Arab butcher slaughtered the wrong camel.

Bin Laden was exiled from his homeland of Saudi Arabia due to his political views. Not only that it’s all but certain that he had his eyes on becoming the ruler of that country.

In his path lies destruction and despair and one could easily describe him as a disciple from hell.

The chronology of his actions doesn’t support an undying support for Palestinians.
