From The Age (http://www.theage.com.au/breaking/2002/01/19/FFXCQF7AMWC.html):
Israel's army chief of staff, General Shaul Mofaz, said today he was trying to convince US officials of a "worrying collusion" between Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority and Iran.
Israel has raised the issue of an Iranian-Palestinian rapprochement in international diplomatic circles, and Mofaz is one of the high-ranking military officials it has dispatched to Washington and London to expose the alleged collusion.
"Iran is putting the weight of very serious threats on Israel, which it wants to destroy. It has tied links with the Palestinians, furnished weapons to Hizbollah and is equipping itself with non-conventional weapons," he said.
