Sad, very sad. And predictable.
Reports out of Syria indicate that 27-year old Issa Abboud (http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=217282) was 'martyred' on Wednesday in Homs, Syria (Hat Tip: Shy Guy).
Twitter reports and Syrian radio on Wednesday condemned the shooting death of Issa Abboud, 27, a Syrian inventor who was once a winner of the World's Youngest Inventor prize.
According to the reports, Issa was shot by security forces while in his car in the al-Nozha neighborhood of Homs. That report is curious, because SANA, the official Syrian news service, which is being picked up by just about everyone else, says that Abboud was killed by "criminal armed gangs" (i.e. the anti-Assad forces). Perhaps that's because Issa Abboud held more than 100 patents (http://www.champress.net/index.php?q=en/Article/view/88065).
The Syrian inventor Issa Abboud, 27 years old, was martyred after being shot dead in his car by criminal armed gangs at al-Nozha neighborhood in Homs on Sunday.
''Issa was on a visit to his cousin's house at al-Nozha neighborhood where the armed criminal groups were firing, which resulted in his martyrdom,'' Ali Abboud, Issa's brother, told SANA.
Issa Abboud earned the title of the youngest inventor in the world, with more than 100 patents, one of which he earned for turning the brains of poultry into discs to save electronic information.
