Might this actually be a disinformation ploy by Khamenei's people to undercut Ahmadinejad?

...According to religious scholar Mahmoud Nubian, Ahmadinejad's top adviser Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei stated three years ago that Iran should have "friendly ties" with the Jewish State, but Ahmadinejad has refrained from reiterating this position in public because of supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's fierce objection.

Nubian further claimed that the Iranian president personally told him that he supported Mashaei's statement, but couldn’t say anything out of respect to the leader.

According to the report, Nubian – who is associated with radical cleric Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi – said that since Mashaei entered the cabinet, "Khamenei has been forced to intervene," hinting at a split between the supreme leader and the president's top aide...

i dont believe a word of it, a leopard never changes its spots, its all just a ploy to give iran more time to build its nukes and missile and to make israel think iran isnt really that bad.

I hope israel isnt gonna fall for this islamist ploy, the only way israel and iran could one day make peace is if the iran regime is totally replaced into a Iranian Democratic party that is totally new, and lets in foreign journalists from CNN , BBC etc to prove its totally legit.

other than that anything that comes out of iran must be taken with a grain of salt.

Ahmadinejad's spiritual mentor thinks it is ok to murder Israeli children and suicide bombings are obligatory.

Evil words in Islamic Republic: A senior Iranian cleric, who is known as President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's spiritual mentor, urged followers to continue suicide attacks against Israelis, including children.

Ayatollah Mohammad Taghi Mesbah, considered one of the Islamic Republic's most radical clerics, issued a religious edict on his website whereby suicide attacks are not only legitimate but are a must for every Muslim, a special paper by the Middle East Media Research Institute shows...

"When protecting Islam, the Muslim people depend on martyrdom operations. It not only is allowed, but even is an obligation," Mesbah wrote...

Notably, for the followers of Mesbah, his words are considered as a binding religious edict. On several occasions in the past, Iranian President Ahmadinejad also spoke in favor of "martyrdom acts."
