Demostrating the deep Palestinian admiration for Osama bin Ladin and al Qaeda, the image of the anti-Ameircan, anti-Semitic terrorist looks down on the streets of Gaza.
The message from the Palestinians is clear: Despite Arafat's feeble attempt to deny it, terrorism against the U.S. and Israel is widely supported among Palestinians.
This photograph was taken on December 17, 2002. In the photo, Palestinian children in Gaza pass by a larger-than-life wall mural of Osama bin Ladin, national hero and champion of the Palestinian cause:

From Yahoo news:
Yasser Arafat asks bin Laden to stop exploiting Palestinian cause
JERUSALEM (CP) - Palestinian President Yasser Arafat demanded Osama bin Laden stop using the Palestinian struggle for statehood as a reason for the al-Qaida terror network's attacks, in an interview published Sunday, while Israel said it will bar Arafat from travelling to Bethlehem for Christmas for a second straight year.
"I'm telling him (bin Laden) directly not to hide behind the Palestinian cause," Arafat said in an interview published in London's Sunday Times newspaper.
Bin Laden "never helped us, he was working in another completely different area and against our interests," Arafat said.
Arafat has denounced the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks in the United States and the Palestinian leadership has sought to distinguish between its fight with Israel and al-Qaida's terror campaign.
The Israeli government, in turn, has sought to link its conflict with the Palestinians to the U.S.-led fight against al-Qaida. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, blaming Arafat for more than two years of Middle East violence, has tried to persuade the United States that Palestinian terrorism is in the same category as al-Qaida terrorism, but the U.S. government has not gone along.
Last month al-Qaida claimed responsibility for twin terror attacks against Israelis in Kenya, calling the attacks a "Ramadan greeting" to the Palestinian people, referring to the Muslim holy month. The statement was seen as an attempt to win support for the terror network in the Arab and Muslim world, where resentment of Israel's conflict with the Palestinians is high.
Recently the Israelis claimed that al-Qaida members had infiltrated into the Gaza Strip, but the Palestinians hotly denied that.
"We are not fighting the entire world, civilization and people. We don't want our just cause to be used as a cover by Sharon and his government to continue their escalation - as though if the U.S. is fighting al-Qaida in Afghanistan, so Israel is fighting al-Qaida in Palestine," said Arafat aide Ahmed Abdel Rahman. . .
Bin Laden "never helped us, he was working in another completely different area and against our interests," Arafat said. -For once I agree with Arafat. However, this picture shows that OBL has now gained some influence in the area.

What difference does it make? Arafat says one thing in English and another in Arabic. Also, its pretty aparent that he has NO control over the general population anyway, so its really a matter of what percentage of Palestinians would heed Osama's calls. Others have told them to give up their children for human bombs and they did.

The photo is from AP and at the moment is on the front page of the Jerusalem Post Web site. (But I'm sure it will be replaced soon, as the news is updated).

Of course bin Laden and al Queada is revered among the Palestinians, we have Arafat denying it and Bush refusing to believe it. That’s a nice combination actually I don’t know why they haven’t gotten together? Aren’t opposites supposed to attract?
The US Administration has been critical of large military actions taken by the IDF. It seems like the IDF has boundaries imposed on its operations in the WB and GS.
From somewhere within the Whitehouse comes the cry to Sharon DON’T ANGER THE ARABS!
From somewhere within the Whitehouse comes the cry to the ears of Muslims ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE!
The CIA knows there’s a connection between the various Islamic Fundamentalist groups and I’m certain that they feed back to the President.
The CIA should be in the GS and WB fighting alongside the IDF assassinating the terrorist element there. There was some indication that the Israeli government was going to initiate military action against Syria but the US gave the thumbs down. Immediate action should be taken against the Hezbollah in Syria by the IDF and US.

Israel warns on Hezbollah missiles
By AP
JERUSALEM -- Israeli Defence Minister Shaul Mofaz warned yesterday that if the Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas fire long-range missiles at Israel, Israel may be compelled to "clean out" the missile batteries, army radio reported.
The radio also quoted Mofaz as saying that while he believed Iran was closer than Iraq to developing nuclear weapons, a U.S.-led offensive against Iraq's Saddam Hussein would deliver a very clear message to Tehran also.
Mofaz was speaking in New York, at the start of his first U.S. visit since becoming defence minister last month. He said Syria, the main power broker in Lebanon, had allowed the Islamic guerrilla group to deploy hundreds of missiles capable of hitting Israeli cities.

Hamas, Hezbollah or al Queada are one of the same! Different name same people!
Does anyone believe that any member of an Islamic terrorist organization is going to dislike bin Laden? Does anyone believe that any supporter of Islamic fundamentalism is going to hate bin Laden?

Even though arafat is whining about obl raining on his parade, arafat is also admitting that global islamic jihad has NOTHING to do with Israel.

If I were a terrorist in a weakening position then I would not publically support the man at the top of the world's list for shoot on site orders even while supporting him and him me. If I were Arafat I would ....lets see.....
Oh yeah...
Proclaim to be a secret Christian supporter for Christmas.
Proclaim to be a secret antiterrorist supporter for Americas war on terrorism.
Heck I'd proclaim to be RuPaul if I thought it would keep me from getting my head blown off. Problem is, no one really cares or believes what Arafat proclaims. We've all had more meaningful discussions with a hairdryer.
BTW does that poster look like a Warhol?

Arafat is still Arafat and I wouldn’t count him down and out yet. The western media might be largely ignoring him but I’m willing to bet that he still has his audience.

I agree with Teacake. This is good evidence against people who like to make the claim that U.S. support for Israel was one of the reasons Al Queda's decided to attack the U.S.
OBL and his crew are desperate now. They believe by attacking Israel they might gain support from other Arab nations. Israel wasn't the primary reason OBL had a beef with the US.
