JERUSALEM -- The Palestinian security chief in the West Bank pledged his loyalty to Yasser Arafat today, two days after witnesses said the Palestinian leader pulled a gun on him during a heated argument.

Arafat was shaking at the time and the pistol fell from his hand, said a Palestinian official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Arafat's aides declined comment on the incident.

Keep in mind that this is the Nobel peace prize winner, ladies and gentlemen. A prefect representative of the palestinian people and a shining tribute to their Arab "political" system.

Actually, I saw this update from CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/asiapcf/central/02/15/afghan.minister/index.html) , which definitely matches the usual pattern of change of political power, in most Islamic states:

"The leader of Afghanistan's interim government, Hamid Karzai, said Friday the killing of Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Abdul Rahman was an "assassination" and that five senior military and defense officials in Karzai's government were involved.

Rahman was killed Thursday. Original reports said that Muslim pilgrims, frustrated at having waited as long as two days to get a flight from Kabul airport to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, stormed a plane carrying Rahman and beat him to death. "
