Since its defeat and Peres' joining with Sharon, the question arises whether Labor has a real leader these days, or is it nothing but a second fiddle of Likud?

Is it Avrum Burg vs. Chaim Ramon, or is it "who cares, neither will have any influence any way"?

Found this is today's news:

Allies of Labor MK Haim Ramon held out hope yesterday that the former minister will decide to run for the Labor Party leadership, despite reports he has already decided not to run.

Ramon's spokeswoman criticized Israel Radio and Ha'aretz for reporting that Ramon's decision was final, when in fact he is still awaiting poll results and meetings with top Labor officials.

MK Eitan Cabel, who considers Ramon his mentor, said Ramon would make his decision soon, based on whether he has a chance to defeat current candidates Knesset Chairman Avraham Burg and Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer.
