Notice that the arab terrorist was employed in Israel. Big mistake:
A Jordanian terrorist has been sentenced to 20 years in jail for planting a bomb on a Tel Aviv bus that injured 14 Israelis.
The Tel Aviv District Court imposed the maximum sentence possible on Abdullah Abu Jabr, a 27-year-old.
Presiding judge Sarah Sirotta wrote that the sentence was intended as a deterrent.
Abu Jabr arrived from Jordan last year and got a job as a night guard at a restaurant near Tel Aviv.
The court had found he visited relatives in two Palestinian refugee camps, near Nablus, in the northern West Bank, in December.
There, he met two men who gave him a bomb fitted with a cellular phone and a second mobile phone, the court said.
The court determined Abu Jabr put the bomb on the bus on December 28, beneath the seat of a 19-year-old woman soldier.
He then got off, it said, and phoned one of the men, who set off the bomb by calling the cellular phone fitted to it.

yes, this is a terrible policy.
i don't understand why, with so much unemployment, israel needs to still offer arabs jobs. it's dangerous and doesn't make any sense.

Israel should not be hiring Palestinians, there are enough new imigrants, besides they take their income and boycott Israeli products so they do not help the economy.
In economics we are taught that wages increases spending and in turn stimulates the economy, well does Israel really want to be improving the Palestinian economy? I think not.

A person convicted of terrorism in the US if convicted faces the death penalty, why not in Israel as well.
All that will happen is a Jew will get kidnapped and after he/she is murdered the terrorists will exchange the body for the return of this terrorist. If terrorist go out to kill Israelis they should no that they will not get away with it.

yes, a death penalty for terrorists seems appropriate.
Only problem is that the rest of the world thinks that capital punishment is barbaric, and Israel is, as usual, afraid of world opinion.
Interesting, though, that the world is never shocked by the daily systemnatic murder of jews by Arabs. That of, course, is just "freedom fighting" and never barbaric like a death penalty for terrorists would be in their eyes.

There's a lot to be said in favour of "capital punishment"... twenty years is a pittance! This guy should never see the light of day... he should be shot, or worse!

totally screwed up by Israel again!
Arabs must be laughing at Israel's stupidity.
What would the ARabs do to an Israeli for just walking though their neighborhood?

This is totally insane! I expect he will be released several years from now as part of a peace initiative. He should be drawn and quartered, but Israel is much too civilised... which is more than one can say about these sicko-predators!

"but Israel is much too civilised"
sorry, this is immoral and unethical.
i have to say that civilized is not the same as moral and ethical.
"he who is merciful to the cruel will ultimately be cruel to the merciful"

Batman! You have made a great point!! Truly, it is a moral and ethical issue... thanks for the quote: I'll attempt to imprint it on my one surviving brain-cell! Take care - and safe!!
