Just a simple prayer for the Armed Forces about to go into battle if you would allow me. I am not a particularly religious person but the vast majority of those about to attack evil are.
May God bless you, look over you and protect you. As you move forward into battle may your hearts be filled with bravery and your minds full of the knowledge that this is a just cause. As you charge into the valley of the shadow of death may you fear no evil. Liberation is just in the eyes of God.
God bless all you American, British and Australian brave soldiers.

Got a letter from the front, from one of my buddies (JT), yesterday; March 18, 2003
(JT) is in the 3rd Marine Battalion.
Thought I’d share it with you guys. Here it is:
March 2, 2003
21:30hrs Kuwait Time
Hey ________!
YOU-ARE-THE-MAN! :) (he drew a smiley face, with a mohawk...)
The box arrived today in perfect condition. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love everything you sent. It will make the days here real pleasant.
We have a ten mile Battalion hike out here in the desert. I am taking beef jerky, slim jims and a Nutty Buddy with me. I cannot thank you enough for the smokes and the tissue paper. The military toilet paper here is like sand paper.
You asked me what kind of music I like. I like all kinds. I especially like jazz music. There is one song I am trying to find. It is called “Take Five” by Dave Bruebeck I believe. It is a jazz song that has been around for some time. Have you heard of it? I just got out of the field this evening and when your box arrived it made my day. We Marines really love getting mail and goodies. We don’t get to see much out here except lots of sand. The exercise I was on took us near the Iraqi border. We were about 10 miles south of it. We are training for what our battalion will do when and if the order is given for us to cross the border and attach. I don’t know if that time will happen at all. It depends on the UN Security Council vote on the 14th of March and or what Iraq will comply with. If we don’t do something now, Iraq will continue to be a threat in the Gulf region, most likely.
I just want to get home by May at the latest.
Well, I have to get to bed. We have to get up at 5a.m. and step off on the hike by 06:30 hrs.; for the hike in the desert.
This place is perfect for launching rockets. It would be a great place to have one of our launches.
Tell your family hi from me, and I will have to come out to your place in Yuma when I get back.
Take care _____,
Thank you very much
for all of the goodies.
Your good friend,
JT

I look forward to the day when an American business man or woman can open a Burger King franchise in Baghdad and serve “American fries”. Some enterprising British person can open a “fish and chips” and an Australian can open an “Out Back restaurant” there. French and German food being officially banned from the country of course.
Has anyone questioned where Saddam got the 5-6 months of food stuffs he reportedly handed out to his people in Baghdad recently? Where did he come up with this massive amount of food? What about all the other people in the country? Did they get any at all? Good job UN Food for OIL people.
In a few weeks the people of Iraq will be getting a taste of some real food instead of pig slop. Still. Pray for our troops and for the good people of Iraq. This could get real ugly and costly in human life.

I have two brothers and many friends currently deployed. I wish them all the Godspeed, safety and prayers in the world.
My brother emailed me this earlier today:
I won't be able to email for a while, I don't think. It's about to get nasty over here. I'm not afraid, though. I know in my heart that we are going a great thing, and I hope that someday Iraqi people will be free because of me and others. Pray for me, for all of us. Pray that I have the strength, the wisdom, and the honor to do what I'm trained to do, to do it well, and to help the greater cause. And for God's sake, stop bragging about me to everyone. :) And send some brownies.
Much love,
Blake

One of Abraham Lincolns generals during the civil war said just before a battle:
"Let us pray that God is on our side!"
Lincoln answered: "No general, let us pray that we are on Gods."
Unlike some of you guys, onkel Abe apparently had a more humble view on these matters. ;-)

We will, Blake.
Euphoria, where do we send the brownies?

How about God bless the innocent people of Iraq that have bourn tyranny from within and sanctions and now an attack from without. I pray for a minimum loss of life on both sides and a quick victory for the US. And I pray that the people of Iraq will end up better off than they began.
