Chemical Weapons Plant Possibly Uncovered

The Jerusalem Post is reporting that Coalition forces have found a camoflaged chemical factory in the Iraqi desert. The building is reportedly covered with sand to hide it from air surveillance. It may be a few days before someone qualified to determine what was made there can be brought in.

Nevertheless, it's striking how US military and government officials are saying emphatically and with complete confidence that WMDs are going to found in Iraq. I think this is based on the understanding that 2 million pounds of bio and chem agents can't be disposed of without a concerted effort, and also knowing what a brutal and dishonest thug Saddam and his underlings are.

This is the reason why US have to plant false evidence in case they actually dont find anything. To much prestige is at stake.

And this is the reason why they probably dont have to plant anything after all. Saddam disposing so much biochem materials without creating any other confirmation/evidence then a "take my word for it"? Not likely.

Nonsense. There is no need to "plant" any evidence as I explained and you seemed to agree below.

Right. The US would not have made this claim with such confidence if there were not very, very good reason to believe it is true.

We know that many Iraqi exiles have talked about Saddam's WMD programs. We know the inspectors found some of it years ago. The only thing never found was the slightest evidence that they got rid of it.

Saddam came to power by taking over the secret police and executing his critics. He is a pathological liar. Perhaps the French believe him, but we never did.

Now it looks like proof may have been found before we started to look in earnest.

If so, this proves that the resistance to a second Security Council resolution was misguided.

The final proof is going to be when Saddam starts using chemical and bio weapons to defend Baghdad. Then the French will have to send troops, but hopefully we will tell them to stay home.

If Saddam uses bio or chem weapons we should warn everyone to leave Baghdad and then start dropping MOABs on Baghdad.
