The United States delivered a protest to the government of President Vladimir Putin yesterday for refusing to stop Russian arms dealers from providing illegal weapons and assistance to the Iraqi military.

The Russians are directly responsible for Iran eventually acquiring nuclear capability. Now it appears that Russian firms are helping Iraq by selling them Jamming Gear, Missiles and Night-Vision Goggles.

If in fact the Russian administration is aware of this fact it would seem that they have sided with Iraq to help defeat the US.

the russians are just like the french. they go to the UN and whine about how the US shouldn't defy the UN, but then they go, well before the war even started, behind the back of the UN and sell iraq banned weapons - weapons that are banned by the UN!

the russians go to the UN as though they have a higher moral ground to try and force countries to abide by international law when they themselves are murdering innocent civilians by the thousands in chechnya, selling a nuclear reactor to a dangerous islamic state like iran to produce WMD, selling saddam hussein banned military equipment. the russians don't give a damn about interntional law

Its no secret what I believe of the russians involvement in Chechnya by now. I have defended my critisism towards them against many people in this forum.

What I cant see is why they should follow the UN or care the slightest about it when USA just ruined the whole purpose of having a UN?

If they broke UN resolutions before I dont think USAs behavior will help. More countries will follow the example. I will not defend russia in this or about anything else but I find it somewhat amusing they are provoking you to this extent. And that you are being provoked.

Well minusthejihad, insulting my age instead of calling me nazi is a step in the right direction I guess.

Maybe the Russians wants to deliver a better-late-then-never kind of payback for those American rocketguns that helped the Afgan muhajedins to shoot down Soviet helicopters so successfully, some 20+ years ago.

Officially denied, of course. What do I know. Anyway, their suspected behaviour seems to underline a thumbrule:
