Im from brisbane australia, and here on the media there have been reports that the battle for baghdad will be as bloody as the battle for stalingrad.
I disagree totally with this, yes, in the battle for stalingrad, stalin was a vicious dictator, but his people fought for him against someone called HITLER who was worse than stalin.
Here the US in not like HITLER, as in wanting to overrun and concour the country, but to liberate, hitler didnt want to liberate stalingrad but the destroy it and take it over.

Thats BAGHDAD,lol
By the way i recken we should make a gambling ring and bet when there will be peace bewtween israel and the 'pals',
and by peace i wont mean a 'pal state' i mean no more suicide bombings, no more attacks on settlements, no more attacks on kibbutzs', no car bombs, no smuggling weapons in from egypt or jordan, no hezbolah palestinan 'freedom fighters' shelling into israel from the north.
I would put odds of 100-1 that there WONT be that kinda peace in the next 2yrs.
and 10-1 that there wont be that kinda peace in the next 5yrs.
anyone care to wager??

I would think that the comparison was more to do with hand to hand fighting in the city as opposed to any ideaological similarities. After all, while they are both the heathen of the Earth, there is little similarity between the ideology Hitler and Saddam Hussein.
