It's not often that I can agree with George.
"It will be no defence to say, 'I was just following orders'." (March 18, 2003).
There is a broad range of opinion that this invasion of Iraq is illegal under international law, so I'm not sure what he is trying to tell his own troops. "Don't listen to me" perhaps?
Now that would be more good advice.

He wasn't trying to tell his own troops anything.. He was addressing those on the Iraqi side that are committing or will commit war crimes.

That's most dissappointing.
I thought he was making a declaration of principle.

Naah! No reason to try and pin something on him that you don't believe he possesses....

Are you implying that you don't believe he has any, or just that I shouldn't look for what I don't believe exists?
At any rate, does George believe that this is a principle? This is a rather more important question. Certainly, the Judges at the Nuremburg and Tokyo War Crimes trials did.
As you think about this just remember - the hypocrite is one who doesn't apply to himself the standards he applies to others.

The latter...

This is something you would have to ask him. I can't speak for what Bush believes. They are, afterall, his beliefs.

Like you and I?
