By THE JERUSALEM POST INTERNET STAFF
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was quoted Wednesdsay as defending Israel's attempt to assassinate Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi to world critics, and suggesting he would not hesitate to take further action against terrorism.
"I told Bush and [Palestinian prime minister] Abu Mazen that I am ready to go a long way to make compromises to achieve a settlement. But on one issue there will be no concession -- attacks on Israelis," Sharon told Yediot Aharonot in an interview.
He further said that if the Palestinians don't undertake their commitment to fight terrorism, "we will do so without hesitation."
