On the suggestion of the High Court of Justice, settlers withdrew their petition to keep the Beit El East outpost from being evacuated Thursday afternoon, giving the the Israel Defense Forces free reign to dismantle it, Israel Radio reported.
The High Court justices who heard the Beit El East case determined that the petitioners’ case had no basis, saying that the land they claimed was privately owned by Palestinians.

According to Ynet, supreme judge Hashin also said the following to the petitioners’ representative:
"This is a classic example of mal-intended use of the judicial system. The land in question is privately owned by Palestinians. I would like to see your reaction if someone settled in your own backyard.
You’re there for two weeks and you’re already claiming rights from the days of Abraham. This type of behavior is unheard of. When a person invades private property, the law enforcement authorities need to deal with him. In a lawful state, when the gov’t tells people they nend to evacuate, they get up and move, while you people just go on and on.”
