hey, for my class i hafta do a 4-5000 word essay :( on why camp david failed...

if anybody knows of a good, simple internet source which describes why it failed, please tell me.

i have 1 question...
if the refugee thing that the palestinians want is implemented, and millions of palestinians return to israel, and there are more arabs then jews in israel...
what more could palestinian negotiators possibly want? if israel becomes more arab than jewish, what would be the point in having 2 seperate states, 1 israel, 1 palestine? if there are more arabs then jews in israel, why would it matter to any muslim or arab country if a mostly arab and muslim israel had control over the temple mount?
why would they care about the boundaries of the newly formed west bank, if both are arab countries?

it seems to me that the palestinian right to return is pretty much everything...
what would israel be with more arabs then jews? just a solid jewish presence in 1 out of the ?29? arab countries?
anyways, tell me if im missing something here, thanks.

The sorry state of modern education... what students need to better understand the ME conflict is not to write essays on recent events, for which they must rely on the biased and sloppy news media, and much speculation, but to research the history of the region and peoples, which is far better documented.

I think these types of essays are intended more to pressure students to buy into popular interpretations of events than to deepen their knowledge...

The point of "right of return" is not justice for "refugees," but infiltrating and destabilizing Israel.

The height of absurdity is Arabs who call for a secular state shared by Muslims, Jews, and Christians. Again, this is just a ruse, and the goal of most Arabs is an Islamic state. You know, one of those wonderful totalitarian countries where they would rather burn school girls alive then let them escape a fire without their headscarves.

At Camp David, Arafat refused to accpet any solution that would not guarantee the completele and total destruction of Israel. Even though he was offered by Barak (perhaps foolishly) more than 90% of everything he wanted, Arafat still blew up the deal, because the dispute was never about "occupation" as the Arabs claim. It was and still is about the destruction of Israel.

Arafat's vision of the Middle east is where there is one state that is completely Palestinian, another state that would be mostly Palestinian (now known as Israel), a third state that is 70% Palestinian (Jordan) and a fourth styate that has a very large palestinian population (Lebanon).

Notice that all these states are contigouos in that they share borders.

Here is Arafat's plan that was endangered by the Camp david proposal:

1. Inject millions of Arab enemies into the heart of Israel under the guise of a Palestinian "right of return". In a few years they become the majority and start a civil war Jihad-genocide of the Jews and take over the country.

2. At the same time, establish Palestine as the command and control center where weapons of mass destruction are stocked to help goal #1 above.

3. Destabilize Jordan and overthrow the King, making it a Palestinian-ruled state.

4. Together with the 1.5 milion Palestinin refugees already living there, destabilize South Lebanon, through a deal with Iran and Hizbullah, and annex it as a Palestinian state to what is now Israel, and its neighbor the eventual Palestine, and to the overthrown Jordan.

5. Establish a greater Palestine, which is Arafat's mad dream. At this point, he would have more power and territory than any of his Arab neighbors, and their turn to become Palestinian subjects would be next, quite possibly.

Seems far-fetched? Think about it.
