Anyone read the new Newsweek? Some pretty interesting stuff in the new issue.

They have a lot of the articles on line.

Any opinions?

Yes, the Newsweek cover-story (which questions whether Israel will be able to survive long-term) draws a very bleak picture of the situation.

It points out, quite correctly, that things are at an all-time low in Israel and only getting worse. Israelis are at the end of their wits for the most part.

It is a very defeatist article, much like in the vain of Leftist-Israeli rhetoric.

But it doesn't explore the most likely scenario for change, IMO, which is an all-out war in which the Palestinian terrorist leadership is ousted by Israel. This military option needs should have been analyzed in more detail to give a truer picture of Israel's chances for survival.

yesterday night i read most of it. I'll finish it today later. There were a lot of good issues raised and many fine points. At the end of the night i had to agree with one article... which suggested ceding gaza and west bank and building a wall. Somewhat unfeasable, but extreme situations call for extreme measures.
