There is a list of members posted & also one of guests viewing the forum. Is there any way of seeing the names of these non members?
I would find it interesting to know who is watching us?

If someone has not registered with IsraelForum.com, or if someone has not logged in using their ID, that person shows up as a guest. The forum administrator (not most of the moderators) would be able to determine the IP numbers of the guests, but that information is not released generally. The forum administrator can determine certain information such as geographical location and ISP provider from the IP number, but generally not the guest's name. The IP number might belong to AOL, for example. What you can tell from the number of guests is that there are many lurkers out there reading this forum.

Paranoid? Not quite...as a matter of fact I use the same name no matter what board I'm on...but I've seen quotes from this board posted on other boards, so I'm curious about who is stalking us :)
I still wonder who they are everytime I see them here..don't you wonder?
Thanks for the info cerulean.

Sure I wonder who they are in the same way I wonder who people are in cars that whiz by on the road, but I'll never know. If you go to http://www.israelforum.com/board/online.php3?s= you'll see what people are doin'- heck, I've even seen cerulean spyin' on everyone tsk :) and sometimes a lot of Guests probably copy/pasting classified material to sell to foreign nations... on those other boards can't you get an idea of who they are by the names they have there?

I know who they are there...so that's one reason I'm curious about who's here...if they use the same names, of course.
Thanks for the link....it feeds my insatiable appetite.:)
I've looked around for that who's online link before & could never find it...oh well, maybe I'm just nosey.

Oh no I am not gonna do your work for you! Besides you know those other forums and I don't, so OK send me the 'suspicious' names... I'll get in touch with my Mossad friends and get 'em rubbed out. :D

My horizons don't need broad-ening, and I didn't bring up the topic. I bump into my mossad and cia friends here, too. Well, you got your question answered by cerulean so I'll bow out. :)

What's very strange is, if you go to "who's online", you can see guests "editing posts", "using private message system"/"Guest Sending Email to another forum user", "reporting a post", etc..
Theoretically impossible, and yet it shows up that way.
I also suspect many 'Guests' are members who don't want to be visible all the time they are here, for whatever reason.

What this means is that the guest has clicked the Edit button, or the Email button, or whatever. When the guest tries this, they get a message that they are not permitted to do that function. So they don't actually edit posts or send private messages, etc. You can test this out yourself. Just log out and click on these buttons.
