No. Just for a while, but I didn't know what was going down so I saved the page to disc. I'm glad you upgraded, too many Jewish sites are getting hacked.

That's right. We did a very extensive hardware and software upgrade, including installing an advanced switch and VPN, OS and languages upgrade, as well as other security upgrades which I won't elaborate on, other than to say that we've put in place some very unpleasant surprises for would-be intruders.

In the past year, we've caught several would-be hackers and have referred them to the FBI for prosecution (usually 1 or 2 per month). Our new system greatly improves that process, based on the information that we've been asked to provide by the FBI. We don't just want to stop intruders -- we want to track and prosecute them.

But ultimately, the reality of running a site like ours is that despite all the technical investment, it's a game of odds. So, the best protection is an "incremental" backup system that can be plug-and-play when needed. This was also put in place, together with remote monitoring.

There's a lot of thought being put in place to ensure that our First Amendment rights are protected. :)

The flipside of protecting IsraelForum is shutting down terrorist websites.

Aaron of http://haganah.us/haganah/ is doing a great job tracking down hosting services that host terrorists and persuading them to terminate clients such as Islamic Jihad.
