Leftist Anti-Semitism Kills Americans In Gaza

Following every column I write concerning Israel, I receive anti-Semitic email. Oddly enough, most of these loons assume I am Jewish (Jewish hillbillies with the last name of Cox are pretty rare!). They call me "Moshe" and recite outlandish tales of Jewish conspiracies. Several claim the 9-11 attacks were perpetrated by the Bush administration and Israel, with the help of evangelical Christian groups. They claim that I am part of this conspiracy because of my affiliation with Rev. Jerry Falwell. Yep, Jerry, G.W. and I sure had a hard time convincing those Saudi Arabian Muslims to hijack planes in order to overturn the Taliban and Saddam; we had to use a whole lot of Jewish mind control drugs!
Without exception, these anti-Semitic nut-balls are leftists. They hate Zionism, Catholicism, evangelical Protestantism and "American jingoism." The left labels anyone who opposes abortion a nazi, but I have yet to find a conservative anti-Semite. Democratic presidential candidate Rev. Al Sharpton marched in front of Freddy's Fashion Mart, screaming "blood sucking Jews" and "Jew Bastards," threatening to burn down the building in a dispute between the black tenant and the Jewish landlord. Freddy's was burned down by one of Sharpton's followers, killing seven. Howard Dean views Palestinian suicide bombers as soldiers in a legitimate war in which he urges Americans not to take sides. Sen. Joseph Lieberman has no chance of getting the nomination because he is Jewish and because he supports the War On Terror.
The L.A. Times reports the following from democrats at a campaign event in Michigan: "Go home to Tel Aviv," one woman called in disgust as Lieberman, an Orthodox Jew, cast Israelis as victims of Palestinian terrorism... He makes me so mad," said Hanan Rasheed, a Palestinian activist from Danville, Calif. During Lieberman's speech, she derided him under her breath, at one point muttering: "He is such a Jew." Later, she said: "He's running for the wrong office. He should be running for the prime minister of Israel."... "Lieberman? I hated him," said Tawfiq Barqawi, president of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee of Greater Philadelphia.
Others are less blatant. While not conceding the necessity of the War On Terror, they claim that Palestinian Islamic terror is somehow different from other Islamic terror. They speak of "occupied territory" when referring to Israel and a Palestinian "home land." Palestinians danced in the streets in celebration of the Sept. 11th attacks, burned American flags and are funded by organizations that fund other Islamic terrorist groups. We are asked to believe Palestinians have no animus toward America. Terror apologists claim that if America allowed the Palestinians to kill all the Israelis and take all of Israel, then all Islamic terrorists would quit hating America and practicing terrorism. Wait a minute - I thought there was no connection!
Oct. 15, 2003 should dispel this myth. Three Americans were killed in Gaza; the 49th - 51st killed in the last ten years. They were awarding scholarships to Palestinians to attend college in America. Their charity was answered by being blown to bits. The bomb was most likely smuggled through tunnels leading to Egypt. Last March, the Israelis attempted to seal off those tunnels. An American college student named Rachel Corrie threw herself beneath a bulldozer and was crushed protecting the tunnels. The left trumpeted Corrie as a hero. It is highly likely that she was a tool for killing Americans and a victim of leftist anti-Semitism.
President Bush demanded those responsible be brought to justice - but, by whom? Our forces are already stretched fighting Islamic terror. Yassir Arafat sponsors the very groups responsible; his concept of "justice" is killing Americans and Israelis. We cannot count on the United Nations; the UN is nearly as anti-American and anti-Semitic as the Palestinians. As usual, we must count on Israel. Israel does what America cannot or will not do in the fight against Islamic terrorism and the nations that sponsor it. Israel took out Saddam's nuclear facility (provided by our "ally," France). Israel bombs terrorist training camps in Syria and Libya. It will probably be Israel that prevents Iran from attaining nuclear arms. As I write this column, Israel is bombing Palestinian terrorists.
In this war, the enemies of America and Israel are the same. If anti-Semitism is allowed to influence our policy, the war will be lost.
