that whole 'palestinians have only rocks to defend themselves and the IDF is an occupying army' is such complete and utter TRASH.
1. the IDF only came to be in the 'occupied territories' when it pushed back the arab armies after they attacked Israel without provocation and with the intent to destroy Israel (quote of the day 'any jews who survive will be allowed to live in palestine. I estimate none will survive' - king abdulla I)
2. if canada had launched four sneak attacks on the united states since 1947, how would you feel towards canada? i wish people would try and put themselves in the ISRAELIS
shoes for once instead of saying that israel is a police state and should be nicer to palestinians.
to everyone who just read the above text and scoffed, thought it was stupid/irrational, etc:
why do we need to look at this as me and you?
it's us.
the palestinians want peace.
the israelis want peace.
shouldn't that be enough to start from?
why do we concentrate on badmouthing one another, trying to convince the US and the EU of who's the 'good guy' and who's the 'bad guy'?
there is no good and bad side.
the only people who are bad are the ones who intentionally kill civilians, which the IDF does 'all the time' . . . . ., or the ones who try to distort the facts and take advantage of people who are uninformed.
allah and adonai (or at least their basic consepts) are the same thing. why cant we all just get along?
