I'm just curious to know, for myself, unrelated to here, if this pop up message telling us we have a PM message is new to the board, or has this been going on for some time?

Love the fact you made it almost invisible when it does pop up though! :)

Ignore the above question for it seems the I was attributing these new pop up messages for PMs here to this board, when I just saw another message for something not at all related to this board.

My mistake, it must be a new feature in Office/Outlook 2004, not this board!

However whilst in tech support, I am wondering if and when this board will be granting us use of avatars after all, or not?
It does seem that many of us would love to know?


Although, another board I visit, did try this experiment of avatars quite recently and we all started off with typical small ones, and within a week we had graduated to larger.gifs that were for the most part, small movies.

A week later, we all were trying to outdo one another with home made gifs, and the board began to crash.
After I posted the one I show below, others began to copy it themselves, and they became bigger and bigger each day! LOL

Here, for example, was my gif and as you can see from the size of it, it was quite enormous, due to the everchanging colors, so, we did lose the avatar options rather quickly.
In retrospect, they should have allowed only so large a size for all of the avatars used.
Although I and most others used cable, I understand it became quite annoying for the few telephone modems that still exist today!
