Jewish population was living in this avenue in Ottoman time,today still jews living there,and Neve Shalom Synagogue is in this steet,this synagogue were bombed about 2 months ago

Strange, but Elin's links don't work except for the very last one. Maybe I have a problem...
I visited Istanbul in 1976 and found the city interesting.

Excellent photos!

I enjoyed many things in Istanbul, but there were also some frightening moments. One of them took place one night when we were having a dinner in a restaurant on a narrow street. All of a sudden there was a big bang at the table next to us. It turned out that wild cats had dropped a tile from the nearby roof and it landed right on the table! No doubt, it might have killed somebody, if it had landed on somebody's head.
