Not to make light of a serious subject, but I found this story to be pretty darn ironic:

Palestinian PM's family cement firm 'helping build Israeli wall'
A Palestinian parliamentary committee is investigating whether a cement company owned by the Prime Minister's family has been selling concrete to Jewish settlements in the West Bank, Palestinian officials have said.

Israel's Channel 10 TV also reported that the Al-Quds Cement Company - owned by Ahmed Qureia's family - has been providing the materials to help build a contentious West Bank barrier, allegations Palestinian officials have denied.

The TV report said Mr Qureia was providing the cement to build the concrete slabs right outside his house in Abu Dis, a town near Jerusalem divided by a 25-foot wall.

The Palestinian premier is on a trip to Ireland and unavailable for comment...

The phrase having your cake and eating it comes to mind...

He wants to make a personal gain from the wall, while also retaining the right to accuse Israel of foul play for building it in the first place. Nice to see he has the courage of his convictions

Not so shocking really after you read "Where does the money go" and all of the other research done by Rachel Ehrenfeld

The PA is basically a criminal enterprise little different from the Mafia or drug lords. It's a fairly tightly knit enclave of personal relationships which jointly own and control the key moneymaking enterprised in the West Bank and Gaza including

-cement
-cell phones
-cigarettes
-car sles/repair
-gasoline sales
-water/piping
-building materials
-road service contracting

-as well as control over essentially all of the flow of money.

(IsraelNN.com) A committee of the Palestinian Authority was reportedly investigating reports that companies registered in the PA and operating from Egypt are supplying building materials to Israel for use in the security barrier in Samaria and Judea.

Arabicnews.com reported last week that official PA sources said the investigation is focusing on a company owned by the family of the PA leader Ahmed (Abu Ala) Qurei. The Jerusalem firm is suspected of selling building materials for use in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, and in the construction of the security barrier. The Arab news website reported that an anonymous PA official said that there is "evidence that Qurei was selling cement to the Israeli Ma'aleh Adumim." The official also said that Qurei transferred his interest in the company to another member of his family several months ago.
