From Haaretz:

Despite Jewish leaders' objections, Israel will not protest against the participation of extreme right-wing ministers in Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's coalition government, as it did when the Freedom Party of right winger Joerg Haider was included in the Austrian coalition government last year.

They are right to do so, for their own sake. Berlusconi is a defender of Israel and its policy, unlike the last moderate anti-fascist coalition in Italy. Both he and his fascist coalition partners hate Arabs, so they have a lot in common with Israel and can save Israel if the EU should decide to take mesures against Israel.
