Buna seara,
Am pus articolul lui Oriana Fallaci, dar este in Franceza, cineva poate sa-l traduca in ivrim, angleza, romana sau rusa, limbile vorbite in Israel???
Jimmy
Hi, Jimmy
do you have a link to the original Italian text?
thx

Here is an unofficial English translation of Oriana Fallaci's recent article.

Jimmy, please re-post in English, so we can all participate.
If you are having difficulties translating something, you can use one of the automated free translation services on the Web.
I think that one such service called "Bablefish" is available through www.altavista.com. Even though it's not perfect, people will still get the idea of what you want to post.
cerulean, great find again!

The book Anger and Pride was commissioned after the article, posted above, was published.

I made a mistake - it appears it wasn't the April article, posted above that led to the book, but a different September article. (It appears all have similar themes, though.)
The article had ugly consequences for Oriana Fallaci, apparently she recieved death threats from Muslim communities in Italy. Here is a short article about it: http://archquo.nouvelobs.com/cgi/articles?ad=etranger/20020426.OBS5184.html&host=http://permanent.nouvelobs.com/ - sorry, in French :)

The September 29, 2001 article, later expanded into the book is available here:
http://www.borg.com/~paperina/fallaci/
(an unauthorized English translation)
I checked the link above from Israel Insider that I gave earlier for the April 12, 2002 article and I see the translation has been removed because it was unauthorized. However, you can get ahold of it via Google at this link:
http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=Heimdall-F5BA5D.10333822042002%40news2.srv.hcvlny.cv.net&oe=UTF8&output=gplain
I do feel somewhat bad for pointing to these unauthorized translations. Perhaps the thing to do to make amends is to actually purchase Fallaci's book.
========
Vic, thanks for the interesting article you provided above. This article (in Italian) has a little more info about who is making the threats and the content of the threats:

NewsGuy - could you add some English to the thread title perhaps?

I remember that it took 20 minutes of googleing to locate an already translated into English version of this. That is, a non bablefish version. I can't recall where it was but it can't be that hard to find again.

A French group is taking legal proceedings to stop distribution of Fallaci's book because it is a "scathing Islamophobic attack" and "racist delirium."

The book is coming to the United States in September.
The article references a LeFigaro article in which Fallaci discussesthe death threats against her. I couldn't find that one, but did find this one, which has a bit more info:

I heard its a good book, but from my view, anything anti-Arab is a good thing.
