Tried to and can't update 'location'.
Message after I hit 'enter' tells me I "entered an Invalid Birthday"..
there isn't even a space for a Birthday.. and I didn't try and enter one (even if there was)

Yeah, it's a glitch. I know because I emailed the site.
So, my proposal is this: how about if only I can edit EVERYONE'S profile?
That would be more fun than being a moderator!
:D

What is it with these crummy vBulletin forums? You can't start new threads, you can't do this, you can't do that.
What a hopelessly crippled forum format vBulletin truly is.
================================================== ========
How about providing a simple "Delete" button for editing posts?

Starting threads is possible only after enough participating in existing treads, to prevent newlings form spamming or sabotaging the forum.
Experience shows the necessity of this feature and it helps (esp. the already very busy moderators) filtering attempts to abuse this place.
Moderators have the "Delete"-buttons - not undisputed recently, though - ordiary posters only have "Edit" to prevent posters from deleting their traces.
Like you can unsay what you have said in a life-discussion.
If you have a better format - we all love to hear your ideas.

Are vbulletin likely to fix it anytime soon?
Will you post here when they do?

Please try again and let me know.

I don't think this vBulletins-forum is so FUBAR, that it would need to be replaced, do you? Why?
A free open source thing would be great, but more for a new kickoff.
But I looked into phpBB's FAQ and I did not find any migration-related stuff.
I no expert in maintaining forums like IF, but transfering *.* into a new world doesn't sound like kindergarten to me. And I run Win2k, XP, Linux, Solaris, MacOS9 AND MacOSX parallel on different machines, but then I have already experienced countless ugly upgradings and incompatibilities and I don't have a lifetime to workaround all the gaps just to optimize something trivial - I'm happy with ONE working solution per problem.
NewsGuy? Are you experimenting with different forums? Would you like the thought of migrating this whole thing?

LOL!
Okay it has better smileys. :(
But the Admin-demo has also tiny radiobuttons named "Disable board
This will make the board unavailable to users. Do not logout when you disable the board, you will not be able to log back in!"
:D
