Apparently, Navy Lt. Kerry took lots of 8mm movies of himself in VietNam "reenacting" his death defying feats of bravery. He also interviewed himself.

What a bozo and insult to American servicemen.

CONTROVERSY SURROUNDS KERRY CONVENTION FILM: WAR SCENES REENACTED

**World Exclusive**

A bombshell new book written by the man who took over John Kerry's Swift Boat charges: Kerry reenacted combat scenes for film while in Vietnam!

The footage is at the center of a growing controversy in Boston.

The official convention video introducing Kerry is directed by Steven Spielberg protégé James Moll.

MORE

Moll was given hours of Kerry's homemade 8 millimeter film to incorporate into the convention short, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"Kerry carried a home movie camera to record his exploits for later viewing," charges a naval officer in the upcoming book UNFIT FOR COMMAND.

"Kerry would revisit ambush locations for reenacting combat scenes where he would portray the hero, catching it all on film. Kerry would take movies of himself walking around in combat gear, sometimes dressed as an infantryman walking resolutely through the terrain. He even filmed mock interviews of himself narrating his exploits. A joke circulated among Swiftees was that Kerry left Vietnam early not because he received three Purple Hearts, but because he had recorded enough film of himself to take home for his planned political campaigns."

UNFIT FOR COMMAND, Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry, will be unleashed next month by REGNERY. [It ranked #1,318 on the AMAZON hitparade Wednesday morning.]

While a swift-boat commander in Vietnam, Sen. John Kerry filmed re-enactments of combat which Democrats plan to use in the official video introducing their presidential nominee tomorrow night in Boston.

During the Vietnam War, Sen. John Kerry filmed re-enactments of combat scenes with a home camera.

A new book, "Unfit for Command," written by John O'Neill, who took over Kerry's swift boat, PCF-94, charges the Massachusetts senator carried a home movie camera to "record his exploits," according to the Drudge Report

The convention video is directed by James Smoll, who works with Steven Spielberg.

Tedd Peck, who piloted PCF-94 before being wounded and turning over command to Kerry, told WorldNetDaily the footage taken in Vietnam is "phony."

Kerry's 8-millimeter films shows him with grenades hanging from a flack jacket, but Peck says the members of the swift-boat crew were not ground troops -- being told never to leave the boat -- and never were issued grenades because of the chance of them ricocheting when lobbed from the deck.

"He found [the grenades] and wanted to make himself look like a gungho John Wayne," said Peck, who said he didn't like Kerry from the start. "That's what it is, Hollywood."

Peck said he and his colleagues thought it was odd that Kerry took the camera with him on patrol.

"He was carefully getting his heroics down," Peck said.

O'Neill's book says Kerry "would revisit ambush locations for re-enacting combat scenes where he would portray the hero, catching it all on film.

The Boston Globe reported in 1996, noted Drudge, that the Kerry home movies "reveal something indelible about the man who shot them -- the tall, thin, handsome Naval officer seen striding through the reeds in flak jacket and helmet, holding aloft the captured B-40 rocket. The young man so unconscious of risk in the heat of battle, yet so focused on his future ambitions that he would reenact the moment for film. It is as if he had cast himself in the sequel to the experience of his hero, John F. Kennedy, on the PT-109."

Thomas Vallely, a fellow veteran and one of Kerry's closest political advisers and friends, told the Globe, "John was thinking Camelot when he shot that film, absolutely."

In his new book "Reckless Disregard," author Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson, details one of the claimed Kerry reenactments for film:

"On February 28, 1969, now in charge of PCF 94, Kerry came under fire from an enemy location on the shore. The crew's gunner returned fire, hitting and wounding the lone gunman. Kerry directed the boat to charge the enemy position. Beaching his boat, Kerry jumped off, chased the wounded insurgent behind a thatched hutch, and killed him. Kerry and his crew returned within days, armed with a Super 8 video camera he had purchased at the post exchange at Cam Ranh Bay, and reenacted the skirmish on film."

O'Neill, an attorney, is head of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, an organization opposing Kerry's candidacy for president. As WorldNetDaily reported, O'Neill's organization stated last month Kerry was a "loose cannon" in Vietnam and is unfit to be commander in chief.

After Kerry requested an early dismissal from Vietnam, O'Neill took over command of his boat.

Swift Boat Veterans for Truth includes the entire chain of command above Kerry during his tenure in Southeast Asia, as well as enlisted men.

You morons have no concept of serving your country.

During Viet Nam (1963-72) there was something called the Cold War. That is the war that the US spent trillions on to keep stupid countries like France free from Soviet rule.

When you turned 19 during that timeframe you registered for the Draft. You were then classified based upon your physical abilities and status. If you were in college, in an important defense related position (say, working on military aircraft as an engineer) or had kids you were deferred. If you were the son of a general, admiral or politician you could also sometimes pull strings to not get drafted or get better jobs. I am simplifying this so that you might understand.

You were assigned a number based upon a lottery...1 to 365. My number during the last year of the draft was 365. If you were 1 to about 120 (if I remember correctly) you had a decent chance of being drafted. If you waited to be drafted you went Army for two years most often, and had very little say in what kind of job you took.

Those who were sharp enlisted before they were drafted to get a better assignment/job. Those that didn't want to join had to sweat it out. The "needs of the military" were always of top concern. Therefore, if you waited to be drafted you could get a job as a cook, bottlewasher or infantryman.

As the US is a world wide force you could get assigned to Germany, Iceland, Australia, Viet Nam, Korea, Japan, US etc. etc. Draftees had a higher chance of going to Viet Nam than did volunteers. The folks who volunteered to go to Viet Nam were usually career enlisted and officers who needed combat duty to further their military careers.

Pre-Viet Nam most young men served in the military at one time or another. It was a duty and an honor. Elvis was drafted and served proudly in Germany (defending France). Cassius Clay was drafted and claimed he was non-violent and would not serve his country. Up until 1967 it was expected of you to serve in the military in some capacity.

Kerry joined the active Navy in 1965. His goal was to emulate his idol JFK. Thus the volunteering for Viet Nam and the filming of all his exploits and his putting himself in for Purple Hearts galore.....with no visible wounds to show for it.

Bush joined the National Guard to be a fighter pilot in 1967-68 I believe. If Bush had joined any Active service he could have easily gone anywhere other than Viet Nam..because he was a volunteer. We had as many pilots in Europe as in Nam. So there is no biggy in joining the Guard. He wanted to stay Stateside so he went Guard. I have no problem with that. The Guard was harder to get into and he may have had some strings pulled; but it is still very honorable service. Few people joined the military and then said "send me to Viet Nam."

How many on this board has served their country?? Two or three?

Clinton lied to his Draft board and went to the UK, and protested against the US

Both Bush and Kerry served their country...one in Nam and one protecting the USA against the Cold War enemy the Soviet Union (Bush was on homeland defense fighter interceptors). I give no more or less credit to Elvis, Kerry or Bush on that issue.

Where Bush comes out ahead is that 1) Kerry was a very loose canon in Nam, 2) Kerry put himself in for medals he probably did not earn, 3) Kerry was on a political junket in Nam according to the articles above, 4) Kerry then came home, protested against all the other soldiers and called them all (and himself remember) "war criminals". 5) then voted against every pro-military/US defense bill for 20 plus years.

I will take an honorable National Guard pilot any day.

Clinton does not even bear mentioning. He was a disgrace to America and is not half the man Kerry is.

What I find disgusting is that a lot of the baby boomer slugs who spit in the face of returning GI's; who called them baby killers; and who spent years degrading all GI's, calling them mentally disturbed vets are now singing the praises of Kerry's Viet Nam service. What BS.
