Newspaper Says Moore Film Used Fake Front
Fri Jul 30, 5:36 PM ET

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Filmmaker Michael Moore's Bush-basing documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" apparently has upset more than Republicans.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph newspaper in central Illinois has sent a letter to Moore and his production company, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., asking Moore to apologize for using what the newspaper says was a doctored front page in the film, the paper reported Friday. It also is seeking compensatory damages of $1.

A scene early in the movie that shows newspaper headlines related to the legally contested presidential election of 2000 included a shot of The Pantagraph's Dec. 19, 2001, front page, with the prominent headline: "Latest Florida recount shows Gore won election."
The paper says that headline never appeared on that day. It appeared in a Dec. 5, 2001, edition, but the headline was not used on the front page. Instead, it was found in much smaller type above a letter to the editor, which the paper says reflects "only the opinions of the letter writer."

"If (Moore) wants to 'edit' The Pantagraph, he should apply for a copy-editing job," the paper said.

Lions Gate Entertainment did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment Friday.

Get used to the dishonest and obnoxious behavior of Bush's opponents. Democrat supporters know that they can't win this election based on merits or the facts, so they've got to resort to lies and false propaganda. Why else would they have to resort to lies?

Some will even be hypocritical and say that "doctoring up" a so-called documentary through lies is OK. Perhaps the slogan of the Democrats should be "If you like lies and propaganda, VOTE DEMOCRAT!".

I'm not really surprised that you don't grasp the implications of moore manipulating copyrighted material to create his lie and mislead people. When a person like moore, whose work is littered with such "creativity, is an honored attendee at the DNC, it is logical to extrapolate a willingness on the part of dems to be so deceived.

Are you for real? Even moore's major supporters agree he fabricates, manipulates, and uses editing techniques to slander and alter the facts.

Or did you just learn that from me?

Learning? I believe that’s a whole new concept, for Olivier and his like. Fabrication of the truth, with a twist of self-denial, shaken, not stirred. The Michael Moore recipe is far more concocted of all of this, but much more… most of it unprintable, as it would be edited.
Nonetheless, Ollie and, his Michael Moore Fan Club will never admit to their darling, being, no more, than an out-and-out fraud. Yet it is we, Ollie, and they categorize as the propagandists.
