View Full Version : Banned From The Board

I just had the interesting experience for the last couple of hours of having my IP "banned". While I'm sure the fronch contingent will maintain that it should have remained so, I finally managed to reenter the forum moments ago.

I am curious as to why the Ban appeared for my IP and why no accompanying message appeared with it explaining the ban. Also, the link to the administrator that is provided with the banning message does not work. Any message sent via email through that link bounces back as undeliverable.

Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon today? Perhaps it is a glitch of the board. Might be that my IP is similar to some other nefarious person who was the real target.

Whatever.

MichaelC,

You didn't "just manage." I changed some security parameters to exclude a portion of Comcast's(?) network in Oregon, and unfortunately I guess that ISP extends into Washington State and you got snared inadvertently. Sorry about that.

The link to the admin works fine. I got your message, but simply could not respond due to time constraints in my job. Even though I'm not able to reply to many members' emails and PMs promptly, I always read them and do what I can.

Thanks for they update. But, one of the links I tried today did not work and I found another. The ban message comes up when trying to enter the forums. The front page and the newsfeeds are still accessible. The ban message has a link that did not work. That message bounced back to my mailbox.

So, I went to the front page and used the "contact us" link. It was that message that got through. Just thought you might want to know this.
