Join the Simon Wiesenthal Center in urging the United States and Canada to suspend funding of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) pending an investigation into their hiring of members of the terrorist organization Hamas.
Recently UNRWA director Peter Hansen openly admitted that members of Hamas are among the organization's personnel stating, "I don't see that as a crime. Hamas is a political organization and not every one of its members is a militant and we do not do political vetting and exclude people from one persuasion as against another. We demand of our staff, whatever their political persuasion is, that they behave in accordance with UN standards and norms for neutrality."
This is clearly a dangerous situation that is out of control. The U.S and Canada, who together account for over a third of UNRWA's annual, multimillion dollar budget, need to ascertain to what extent their taxpayers' humanitarian contributions for legitimate refugees have been diverted to abet terrorists and their agenda.

To: U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell:
I join with the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its 400,000 members worldwide urging that the United States suspend all funds to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) pending an investigation into the hiring of members of the Hamas terrorist organization.
To imagine Hamas terrorists holding down day jobs as humanitarians makes a mockery of the UN. The issue is not the legitimate humanitarian need of refugees, but to what extent a key UN agency has allowed itself to aid Hamas, an openly identified terrorist organization.
TO: Canadian Foreign Minister Pierre Pettigrew:
I join with the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its 400,000 members worldwide in commending your government's commitment to investigate the debasing of the United Nation’s Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) humanitarian responsibilities. We urge Canada to immediately suspend all funds to UNRWA pending your full investigation. To imagine Hamas terrorists holding down day jobs as humanitarians makes a mockery of the UN. The issue is not the legitimate humanitarian need of refugees, but to what extent a key UN agency has allowed itself to aid Hamas, an openly identified terrorist organization.
