European Union leaders yesterday urged Israel to suspend building Jewish settlements and lift the blockade of Palestinian territories to take advantage of a window of opportunity for Middle East peace.
The European Council also calls for a complete freezing of settlements activity, the declaration added. It also welcomed the truce mediated by CIA chief George Tenet earlier this week.
