An Egyptian food manufacturer has launched a line of crisps packaged with Yasser Arafat's image, saying it will raise funds for the Palestinians and support their quest for statehood.
Abu Ammar corn chips come in a bag emblazoned with a picture of Mr Arafat in his trademark military uniform and black-and-white chequered headscarf.
Along with Mr Arafat's nom de guerre Abu Ammar, the packet says in Arabic "batal al-nidal" (Hero of the Resistance) and includes - somewhat bizarrely - the snack being trampled under the Palestinian leader's feet.

"The round corn and vegetable oil snacks are flavored with cheese, tomato or paprika."
No thanks I'd rather eat the wrapper. My guess is this dreck tastes roughly the same as C-4 or Halavah.
And for you Yanks they probably mean Wheat not Corn.

Mmm, I don't think this snack is kosher :D
Porc with mayonaise served on white bread :p
Don't worry Israel, America will support you by sending their McDonnald carriers. Europe will send some dieticians :D

I suspect that crispy deep fried rat bits is the more appropriate snack food to commemorate the likes of Arafat. It works on several levels.
Most rats I have ever seen bear a striking resemblance to this pathetic caricature of a human. And too, Ara-Fat Rat Bits are ideally suited to the undiscrimating palate confined to its’ bombed out hovel for any length of time. Don’t be caught dead without them-Just be caught dead!
So, this is their answer to Bamba... :D
Aaargh...
Next thing that will happen is that the things will be sold at every street corner down here...

Just think: everywhere you turn, - ARAFAT! You will have to run, like Maupassant from the Eiffel Tower! :)
Now I KNOW I am not going to Europe any time soon... :)

In Arabic, the packet reads "Abu Ammar," Arafat's nom de guerre, and "Hero of the Resistance," with drawings of the snack scattered by the Palestinian leader's feet.
Yes, a snack mixed with the smell of Abu Ammar's feet is apparently considered an attraction in Egypt. Especially after a month's seige in Ramallah with no shower.
Hey Morpheus,
Are shishka-rat flavored snacks considered "Halal" in Egypt? :)

The bags feature a cartoon of an open-mouthed Arafat in khaki military dress and his trademark black-and-white checked headscarf against the backdrop of a Palestinian flag.

Miss what, Europe or Arafat on a package?

I can see the REAL open-mouthed Arafat, in all sorts of dress and complete with that tablecloth, against the Palestinian flag any time I want. All I have to do is turn on the TV. In fact, I would really like to see what he looks like with his mouth closed! :D

Looking beyond the snack bar with Arafag’s picture on it I don’t believe this is good news for Israel. Actually the snack bar has two purposes beyond eating, it will turn the terrorist into a cult figure and make the whole Egyptian nation feel sorry for the Palestinians. I think this might even intensify the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel.

The Arab hatred of Israel is already so deep that it doesn't matter any more.

There’s the Islamic Fundamentalist in Egypt and they have their supporters. What I meant was that the supporters might dig a little bit deeper into their pockets to fund explosives and weapons for the Palestinians.
I know that the hatred of Egyptians towards Israeli’s is intense, however, no matter how bad things are it could always get worse. Unfortunately!

New educational CD-ROM Game for Muslims:
But nestled among the happy tigers, bears, and kitty cats is a game called "The Resistance." This game's object: "You are a farmer in South Lebanon who has joined the Islamic Resistance to defend your land and family from the invading zionists." Players do so by blowing up Israeli tanks.
Zionists aren't the only target. A principal aim of Islamic Fun! seems to be to instill ancient Islamic resentments in today's youth. As the tiger cavorts among the trees in "Tree Hop," the game asks its players to identify the Mosque of Cordoba from among three inset photos. The accompanying question: "Ignoring the hand over agreement, the Christians turned the beautiful Mosque of Cordoba, in Muslim Spain, into a Cathedral (1238). Which one is it?"
