 dear all cool Israeli people, can one of you be so kind as to answer my urgings.

I am wondering about various pieces of general info of the IMI Merkava Mk-4 MBT.

1) Does it have a 1800HP or 1500HP diesel engine? European or American in origin?

2)Does it have a Auto target tracker? And if so is it improved over the MK-3.

3)Does it have a active defence system like the Russia Shtora -1 or Arena (I have read the Merkava MK-4 has two missle launchers and am wondering if it is part of a AD System or something else) Or better yet a laser self- defense weapon like the Chinese type 98?

4)How improved is the turrent protection over other models?

5)Does it have a command and control computer and display like the French Leclerc?

6)Can a Browning 12.7mm HB MG still be fitted over the main gun?

7)Is it truely capable of 82Kph as I have read!?

8)Since two merkava MK-3 tanks were disabled by remote mines recently, will the MK-4 employ new and better anti-mine defences Built in?

10) How thick is the armor compare to a M1A2? Is it thicker than even the Swedish Strv 122/ Leopard S? Is it the most heavily armored tank it is world, bar none ?

11)Will it be the first Merkava fitted with ERA Tile of somekind (Maybe a modern version of Blazer)

9)Can it really carry 81 rounds of 120mm ammo? that seems like a far shot

10)How does the guided shell thingy work?

11)ICan the gun cradle easily tupgrade to a 140mm gun?

12)How potent is the software, is the CPU more capable in any MBT in the world?

13) Does it have GPS?

14) Will there be firing ports installed?

15) Any Bow MG's like the BMD-1 AND BMP-3?

16)Will it weight 70 tons? More or less?

16) Will the world see the MK-4 soon?

17) Last, but not least, will it be a unparreleled SUPER TANK, unmatched in the world...yeah?

Thanx

 Sorry... It's just the Merkava is a awesome MBT.

18)I have read agian that IMI has develop a grenade system similar to the french one installed on the Leclerc. It uses 60mm smoke, HE-FRAG, Anti-laser designator rounds. Will that be installed on the merkava mk-4?

19)Will the Merkava MK-4 have a backward camera driving system?

20)What would happen if two internal 60mm IMI commando mortars were installed(One for loader, one for the commander)? Would that be impractical?

21)A person on another forum said the merkava does'nt use Chobham armor or DU armor, if that is true then does it use Israeli made composite armor amd can add on DU armor be fitted?

22) How come there is only one layer of Chains with ball weights at the back where the turren brussle is? would'nt more layers of chains keep out projectiles from the turrent ring easier?

23) Would the Merkava mk-4 ever be armed with a high-caliber co-axial weapon, like a 57mm or 40m Bofors gun.

The Merkava Mk 4 has begun series production for the IDF and includes a new compressed gas recoil system and thermal sleeve for the 120mm gun, to enable the firing of enhanced kinetic energy ammunition, and new ballistic armour. Both the gun and armour are being supplied by Israeli Military Industries. A new fire control system has been developed by El-Op.

Wouldn't you like to know.

Just remember: the $3 billion in aid that Israel gets from the U.S. is nothing compared to the $billions oil-rich Arab nations generate. The reason tiny Israel can launch satellites into space, build the MK-4, and so forth isn't U.S. aid -- it's superior know-how.

:) Tankers are heros, they are well trained and have leadership and teamwork qualities that makes them the best in any army. The MK4 whatever it is like will just expand the capabilities of Isaeli tank crews , some of whom are most likely so of the most seasoned Tankers in the world, although at points given inferior tanks like the M-51 Isherman when Egypt was getting superior soviet equipment.
