Until now the interior ministry always made a big stink and was hard pressed to accept the conversion of such people - even if done by an Orthodox rabbi! There are other people who claim Jewish heritiage too and have a very good case, e.g. the Lemba in Africa.

I wonder if the recent decision of the supreme court regarding conversion will change the attidute against those converts. But then again probably not because they are not white ashkenazi and most of them are looking to settle in Yehuda and Shomron. Expect Ophra & Co. to find some silly excuse why it is ok to accept the reform conversion of a guest worker because of his financial desires but not someone who undergoes an Orthodox conversion because of his true believes.

You can throw as much dirt at the Jews as you like but unlike your white Euro ancestors who colonized the world and wiped out the local population from Argentina to Australia only because of the color of their skin the Jews are not identified by race, color or the genes.

The Jews come in all colors and all races. The reason you bring it up in the first place is because you can identify with racism and discrimination. I am a Jew who happen to be White. However, my people are also Ethiopian Jews, who happen to be black. It must be hard for you to grasp it.

If I'm not mistaken the new law applies to conversions performed IN Israel. Conversions performed outside Israel have always been held to a different standard.
