I have recently experienced difficulties in accessing the forum, sometimes lasting hours on end. Is that me, or is the problem wider?

Me too. For slightly longer than a week, probably two or three weeks.

Is it worth PMing Newsguy to ask if he's aware of anything that might be causing this? He seems to be around a bit at the moment.

We are looking into this. It's been about 2 weeks that some of our software seems to be shutting down periodically.

If we won't be able to locate the cause soon, we'll simply implement a script that checks the sites every few minutes and automatically restarts the software if there is a problem.

Anyway, we are also about a month away from moving to a different data center altogether. Our current ISP is closing its Los Angeles facility and we'll be moving this server to a new one. So, maybe there is also instability with our connection in addition to the software issue.
