Foreign worker kills Israeli girlfriend

A 26-year-old Israeli woman was strangled to death Friday in Eilat by her boyfriend, a foreign worker.
The 23-year-old Indian native called the Eilat police and admitted to killing his partner.
Police arrived at the couple's apartment and found the body of the victim, who was originally from the north of Israel, Army Radio reported.
The young man stated that he strangled her because he suspected that she was unfaithful to him.

As seen from a non-Jew, I find this discussion about the merits of being a Jew simply hilarious. I do have several Jewish relatives and friends, but isn't their choice of religion their own choice and not a concern of anyone elses's?

That is right, as a non-Jew you cannot possibly grasp it. How much Jewish education your Jewish relatives have had and, by the way, their Jewishness has no bearing on you whatsoever. The reason the Jewish community is dying out in Europe is because its membership lacks the Jewish upbringing, education, etc. An assimilated, intermarried, watered-down, ignorant, diaspora Jew cannot survive as a Jew for too long within the non-Jewish majority.

I side with you, as in most other cases.

The question in hand is the mertis of Jewish culture and importance of ethnic affiliation and identity.
I do have several Jewish relatives and friends, They are not real Jews. Acutaly, I doubt their existance. Primarly according to the proven depth of your ignorance about us.

Judaism is not a religion, it an ethnic group, a nationality complete with national languages, national culure and unique national hisotory common to all Jews of the world. All Jews have common ancestors. We are all decendents of the Jews who lived in anciant Judea. This is a fact.
In some way I understand their ignorance and confusion. Their ethnicity is based on blood and genes. They divide the people due to race, color, etc.
It is hard for them to understand that an African or Chinese looking man/woman can be as ethnically Jewish as a blond, blue-eyed Jew.
Therefore, we should not allow them to define us.
