i bet all these israel-palestine negotiations are what will slowly close in on israel and bring it into ruin. since palestinians are so stubborn, israel should jus kick Yasser Arafat out of power by force. although that might provoke some protest from other nations, itll sure bring lasting peace.

Not only must Arafat go but Israel is must drive the Palestinians in Gaza into the sea and send the Palestinians in the West Bank to Saudi Arabia. There can be no Palestine......... just plain and simple folks.... there can be no Palestine.

Only if there is something - or someone - who will take over. The more I look at this, the more it seems that the majority of the Palestinians are not ready for independence and self-determination. There are some lone voices of reason, but they are so lonely!

I know that Sari Nusseibeh has been caught guiding the Iraqi scuds during Desert Storm, but his more recent statements and actions seem to be reasonable. However, what following does he have? None!

If he was caught guiding scuds during the Gulf War, then that should reveal to you his TRUE intentions.

Actions are truer than words.

It's already brought it to ruin.

People are afraid to go out and lead normal lives.
People cannot go on a bus (see today's news), go shopping at the mall, or have a meal at a cafe. It is just too dangerous.

Sad to say, many are emigrating, and the ones who do stay feel that all is lost.

Can you imagine a country where the above activities are taken for granted?

Even we, in post 9/11 America, do not fear being shot to death on our way to the mall, or blown up for eating in a restaurant.

More importantly, NO COUNTRY ON EARTH would accept such a situation for it's people. Not USA obveously, not Europe ofcourse, and most certainly, and finally, NO ARAB STATE ON THE MAP WOULD TAKE THIS VULGAR BARBARISM FROM ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALISTS.

Just look at Egypt and Syria.

Egypt - President Hosni Mubarak fights a war with The Islamic Brotherhood organization, killing hundreds of militants.
IBO was making Egypt a dangerous place, and he did something about it.

Syria - President Hafez al Assad fights with same IBO, and what does he do? He levels the city of Hama to the ground (not an exaggeration) killing 30,000 arab inhabitants.

In 1982, when the Hama massacre took place, Hama was a hotbed of Islamic fundamentalism. In both the Egyptian and Syrian cases, the fundamentalists were fighting to overthrow the secular governments of these states.

I know, I agree. But at least he is not corrupt, and for the past ten years he has been OK. This is academic anyhow (no pun intended :) ): the man has no following
