To administrators and moderators of Israelforum:
I am a relatively new poster on this forum, so I realize this might be a bit hutzpadik of me to make a suggestion, but I hope you will bear with my hutzpa and read the rest of this post:
I humbly suggest we have a special forum (section) of Israelforum for hebrew speakers. First of all, this is an Israel forum and many of the posters in this thread are sabras and posting in hebrew would be more comfortable. Now, I am not naive and realize that english is the international language, but why not have a special section for hebrew speakers to chat about Israeli politics, culture, current events, etc. in their mother-tongue?
Secondly, hebrew is the national language of Israel and this is an Israel forum, so IMO there should be a section with the option of posting in hebrew.
Lastly, this might also be a good way for Jews in the diaspora to practice their hebrew. Some might want to brush up on their hebrew skills that they have, but do not get to use because they are not living in Israel, while others might want to practice in advance of their planned aliya.
The moderators of this section would obviously be those that have a command of the hebrew language. I think this could work out.
Again, I am fairly new here, but IMO a forum about Israel should also be encouraging use of the official language of Israel- hebrew, so I think having a special hebrew speaking section would not be a bad idea to consider, even from a fairly "newbie" to this forum like myself.
Thanks:)
